At Questis, we deeply appreciate how vital our team is to our success. We champion and celebrate them daily. Because we value them so extensively, we want to share them with the world! Look out for new employee spotlights each month. We hope you enjoy getting to know our amazing team!
This month’s featured employee is Dr. Martha Menard, Director of Financial Coaching and Behavioral Scientist at Questis.
What is your role at Questis and how long have you been on the team?
I serve as head of coaching, and have been on the team for 5 years. I have a background in behavioral health, and personal finance has always been my secret passion, so this is a perfect fit for my interests and experience.
What is your favorite part about working at Questis?
The people–both my colleagues and our coaching clients.
What is your “Why”?
My personal why is reaching financial independence. Professionally, I chose to be a financial coach because I want to help people reach the life goals that are important to them-–money is just a means to that end.
What is the most interesting thing about you that your colleagues would be surprised to know?
Two things: One is that I am fluent in statistics–in my PhD program, all the stats courses I took counted as my foreign language requirement, which always amuses me. The second is that in my previous career as an integrative health practitioner, I worked with a number of celebrities (who shall remain nameless to maintain their confidentiality), including a couple of billionaires.
What is your favorite thing to spend money on?
Experiences, like travel, a great meal, or live music.
What are your personal and/or professional goals for the year?
To grow our members-only social network, Communities, especially as we add more new courses and additional goal-focused groups, like the Debt Freedom Circle. It takes more than a webinar to help people change their behavior and build better financial habits.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life what would it be?
Definitely sushi! Hamachi, tamago, and ikura are my favorites. And you can never go wrong with a salmon avocado roll.
